Walk-off Win by Pioneers in Saturday's Second Game Leads to Doubleheader Sweep
HAYWARD, Calif. — No. 14 Cal State East Bay softball secured a doubleheader sweep over Stanislaus State on Saturday at Pioneer Softball Field, rallying late in game two for their fifth walk-off win of the season. The Pioneers took the opener 6-3 before storming back from a three-run deficit to take game two, 4-3, capped by Jennavee Campos' walk-off double in the seventh inning.

Stanislaus State struck first in the top of the first inning on a two-out RBI single by Sarah Warden after Malia Babasa led off with a double and advanced to third on a bunt.
East Bay responded emphatically in the bottom of the second. After Cynthia Carrillo worked a leadoff walk and Ysabella Cortez singled, pinch-hitter Luda Gumataotao launched a three-run homer to left field—her first of the season. The Pioneers tacked on a fourth run that inning when Annelise Garcia delivered an RBI single to score Gabriela Rivera.
In the fourth, the Pioneers extended their lead to 6-1 after Ashlee Toy doubled and came around to score on another RBI single by Garcia. Alexa Zumstein followed with a two-run single to center to drive in Toy and Garcia.
Stanislaus threatened in the seventh with two runs off a double by Shelby Frutoz, but Jaidyn Gamble held on for a complete-game victory.
Game Two: Cal State East Bay 4, Stanislaus State 3The Warriors looked poised to split the series after building a 3-0 lead through five innings behind home runs from Karli Dalbianco and Allejandra Perea, and an unearned run in the fifth.
Trailing by three entering the bottom of the sixth, the Pioneers surged back. With two outs, Jenna Porto singled and advanced to second on an error. Jeslyn Cuellar walked, and Cortez cut the deficit to one with a two-run double. Rivera followed by reaching on an error to score Cortez and tie the game at three.
After Kamerynn Cordova held Stanislaus scoreless in the top of the seventh, Garcia led off with her third hit of the game. Marissa Farias advanced her to second with a sacrifice bunt, setting the stage for Campos, who roped a pinch-hit walk-off double to left center for East Bay's fifth walk-off victory of the season.
