MERCED, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay volleyball team continued its strong run through CCAA, taking down UC Merced 3–1 (21–25, 25–19, 25–23, 25–20) on Saturday night. The Pioneers improved to 10–8 overall and 7–3 in conference play and currently sit in fourth place.
Balanced Attack Powers Pioneers Past Cal State Monterey Bay, 3–1
SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay volleyball team delivered a strong performance Thursday night, defeating Cal State Monterey Bay 3–1 (25–16, 24–26, 25–19, 25–18) at the Otter Sports Center. The Pioneers hit an impressive .275 as a team, with three players recording double-digit points to improve to 9-8 overall and 6-3 in CCAA play.
Pioneers Push Cal Poly Pomona to the Brink in Five-Set Thriller
HAYWARD, Calif. — Cal State East Bay went toe-to-toe with conference leader Cal Poly Pomona on Friday night at Pioneer Gymnasium, taking the match the full five sets before ultimately falling 3–2. The Pioneers fell 23–25, 26–24, 20–25, 25–21, 13–15 to snap a three match win streak and move to 8-9 overall and 5-3 in CCAA play.

Kale’a Kuamo’o Earns Her First Career FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week Award
Kale'a Kuamo'o from has been voted this week's FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Kuamo'o averaged a CCAA-best 4.38 digs on the weekend to help Cal State East Bay defend its home court with a pair of victories. She added five assists and two aces.
