MEET RECAP: Women's Track & Field at Bryan Clay Invitational
AZUSA, Calif. - Over the course of Thursday and Friday, multiple runners from Cal State East Bay women's track & field competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Athletic Stadium. The second fastest program time in one event was reached and multiple personal records were met by members of the Pioneers.
- Jenna Rodriguez broke her own personal best time in the 800 meters, as her finish of 2 minutes, 9.55 seconds became the second fastest 800 meter time in program history. While she broke her previous record which was fourth in Pioneer history, her new record had her surpassing program records held by Pioneer Hall of Famers Debi 'Cis' Shaeffer and Chris Manning Dreher.
- Hope Brookins reached a personal best time of 4:46.67 in the 1,500 meters.
- Also reaching a personal best 1,500 meter time was Angelique Martinez, clocking in at 4:48.32.
The Pioneers are also in action this week at the Johnny Mathis Invitational at Cox Stadium in San Francisco.
