Cal State East Bay to Host 2025 NCAA Division II Softball Regional Pod This Week
INDIANAPOLIS - The 2025 NCAA Division II Softball Championships were announced by the National Office on Monday. Cal State East Bay was awarded the No. 1 seed in the West Region and will host one of two regional pods in Hayward this week. The regional pod (West 1) will take place Thursday, May 8 to Saturday May 10.
The Pioneers, along with Sonoma State, Western Washington* and Concordia University Irvine* will play in Hayward this week at Pioneer Softball Field. The format is double elimination among the four teams. The winner of the Hayward Pod advances to next week's Super Regional against the winner of the San Francisco West Region Pod, which features San Francisco State*, Cal State San Marcos, Biola and Saint Martin's.
*Indicates automatic qualifier from respective conference championship
Cal State East Bay enters the NCAA West Regional with an overall record of 38-13 and won the regular season championship for the CCAA. The Pioneers dropped two games in last week's CCAA Tournament in double elimination.
