Three Pioneer Women's Golfers Named All-CCAA Honorable Mention; Bowman Named CCAA Women's Golf Freshman of the Year
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - A day after the Cal State East Bay women's golf team was awarded a berth in the upcoming NCAA Division II West Regional, three Pioneers were honored by the CCAA with postseason awards.
Torrie Bowman was named CCAA Freshman of the Year, as well as All-CCAA Honorable Mention, while Jasmin Krishna and Sophia Tejeda were also named All-CCAA Honorable Mention.

In the final regular season tournament for Cal State East Bay, Bowman was the medalist at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic (-4) and was named FloCollege CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week. She also made the All-Tournament Team for the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in March. At the CCAA Championships, she placed 13th. Bowman averaged 76.3 per round.
Krishna tied for ninth at last week's CCAA Championships, had two eighth place finishes in the spring season and to open the fall season, placed third at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella and with the performance, was named CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week.
Sophia Tejeda - Sr. - Villahermosa, Mexico/UT-Rio Grande ValleyTejeda tied for ninth at the CCAA Championships, highlighted by a 75 in the final round to climb the leaderboard. Throughout the season, she had five top-10 finishes with a scoring average of 75.7.
The Pioneers will compete in the NCAA Division II West Regional from May 5-7 at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas.
