Men's Cross Country Picked for Sixth in CCAA
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - On Wednesday, the CCAA announced the 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll for men's cross country. Picked to finish sixth in the conference is Cal State East Bay, matching the same actual scoring finish for the Pioneers at the 2024 CCAA Cross Country Championships.
Chico State was unanimously picked as the top team in the poll, as the Wildcats have won 22 consecutive conference crowns.
Following Chico State in the poll are Cal Poly Pomona, Stanislaus State, Cal State San Marcos, Cal Poly Humboldt, then the Pioneers.
The season for the Pioneers begins under the lights on Saturday, September 13 when they run in the Kim Duyst Twilight Cross Country Invite, which takes place at 8:30 p.m. from River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres, California. To decide their place in the CCAA, the Pioneers have an opportunity to prove they are better than sixth when they run in the 2025 CCAA Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 24 at Bidwell Park in Chico California.
