MEET RECAP: Women's Cross Country at SF State Invitational
SAN FRANCISCO — The Cal State East Bay women's cross country team finished fifth out of 10 scoring teams at the SF State Invitational held Friday afternoon in Golden Gate Park. The Pioneers placed fourth among eight NCAA Division II teams in the 6k race.
- Madison Gomez led East Bay with a 14th-place finish in a time of 22 minutes, 32.4 seconds out of 104 runners.
- Pioneer teammate Hope Brookins crossed the line 29th in 23:06.4.
- Angelique Martinez set a personal 6k record of 24:11.0, good for 55th place.
Stanislaus State took the team title for the women's 6k while Sacramento State's Tia Oliver won the individual title in 21:19.7.
The Pioneers will next compete in the Bronco Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, California. It will be the final regular season meet of 2024. The women's 6K open race begins at 11 a.m.

- Women's Cross Country Picked 6th in CCAA Preseason PollALISO VIEJO, Calif. - The 2025 season for Cal State East Bay women's cross country starts under the lights on Saturday, September 13 in the Kim Duyst Twilight Cross Country Invite in Ceres.
