Alan Sue Named CCAA Men's Golf Coach of the Year
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - After leading the Cal State East Bay men's golf team to a 2025 CCAA Championship, head coach Alan Sue was named CCAA Men's Golf Coach of the Year. It's the time Sue has been named men's golf coach of the year by the conference.
Sue led a Pioneers team to the top ranking in the West Region and a CCAA Championship last week in Santa Barbara. He also coached the 2025 CCAA Individual Champion, Cooper Groshart.
"This award is certainly well-deserved for Coach Sue," stated Cal State East Bay Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Allison Kern. "He has been a model of invested coaching that puts his athletes in a position to be successful. I don't think it's a surprise to anyone that gets to watch him over the course of a season that our teams continue to have success under his direction. This recognition is exciting affirmation of Coach Sue's exceptional abilities."
The Pioneers had five tournament wins this season, including the first three in the fall, the Nighthawk Invitational to open the spring season and the CCAA Golf Championships presented by Under Armour.
Among the Pioneer men's golfers in 2025, two were named All-CCAA (Oscar Blomqvist, Easton Hether) and one other was named All-CCAA Honorable Mention (Ananjan Kaushik).
Sue also received CCAA Men's Golf Coach of the Year honors in 2017.
On May 8-10, Sue gets to coach the men's golf team in the 2025 NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional at Victoria Club in Riverside.
