DAY TWO RECAP: Men’s Golf at NCAA Division II Championships
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The second round of stroke play in the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships took place Tuesday from PGA National Golf Club. Cal State East Bay improved its team score by 13 strokes in the second round to sit in 12th place heading into the final round of stroke play.
The Pioneers will need to climb to eighth place on Wednesday to prolong their season and reach match medal play. Two teams, Lincoln Memorial and Central Oklahoma are tied for the eighth spot at +9 with the Pioneers at +15.
- Easton Hether had Tuesday's lowest individual score among all Cal State East Bay golfers at -2 (70), as he sits tied for 11th on the leaderboard at 1-under-par 143. His second round was highlighted by three birdies on the front-9. Hether has six birdies in total of the 36 holes played.
- Oscar Blomqvist has East Bay's second lowest overall score through 36 holes at 5-over-par.
- With an even par 72 in the second round was Adam Brangefalt.
- Peyton Hendricks had five birdies in the second round.
Through two rounds, Missouri S&T holds the top spot on the team leaderboard. Individually, Colton Swartz of Florida Southern and Hunter Smith of North Georgia are tied atop the leaderboard at 6-under-par 138.
First tee time for the final round of stroke play is set for 7:30 a.m. ET (4:30 a.m. Pacific) from PGA National Golf Club. Cal State East Bay's first tee time is set for 10:15 a.m. ET (Hendricks).
