Gonzales and Grant Receive NCBWA Postseason Honors
NAMPA, Idaho - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division II West All-Region Teams on Friday. From Cal State East Bay, Max Gonzales and Camron Grant were named to the NCBWA West All-Region Second Team.
Max Gonzales, Sr., P - Milpitas, Calif./Ohlone CollegeGonzales led the CCAA with the lowest earned run average among qualifying pitchers at 2.70 and had a 6-4 record on the mound. His 67 strikeouts in 80 innings pitched was sixth most in the CCAA. Gonzales was named CCAA Pitcher of the Week for March 31-April 6. For the same week, he was named NCBWA West Region Pitcher of the Week following a complete game five-hit shutout against Cal State LA. Gonzales has weekly and postseason awards from the NCBWA and CCAA, as he was also a First Team All-CCAA selection.
Camron Grant, Sr., DH - San Bruno, Calif./Oklahoma BaptistWith a .360 batting average, Grant led the Pioneers in hitting. The season was highlighted by an 18-game hitting streak. He had four home runs in his one season as a Pioneer. Grant's postseason honor comes after he was already named All-CCAA First Team earlier in May.
