OVERVIEW AND NOTES

Last week, Cal State East Bay women's golf was selected for an at-large bid to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division II West Regional, which takes place this coming Monday-Wednesday at Brookside Golf & Country Club. The Pioneers are the No. 9 seed in the West Region
 
Cal State East Bay is coming off the 2024 CCAA Championships presented by Under Armour in which it finished fifth among six teams. Four of the six CCAA women's golf teams were selected for the regional tournament. 
 
In 2023, the Pioneers competed in the NCAA West Regionals and as the fourth-place finishing team, advanced to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships in Missouri.

GOLFERS TO WATCH

Julika Grosspietsch – Sr. – Dresden, Germany/Menlo College

Grosspietsch was named to the All-CCAA Team and is ranked No. 74 nationally. By finishing fourth at the CCAA Championships in April, Grosspietsch was named to the CCAA All-Tournament Team.
 

Mandi Granato – Sr. – Plainfield, Ill./Nebraska-Omaha

Granato was named an All-CCAA Honorable Mention selection. She averaged a score of 76.4 and finished in the top-50 in nine of the 10 tournaments that she played in.
 

Jasmin Krishna – Jr. – Pleasanton/Foothill HS

Krishna will be appearing in her third NCAA Division II West Regional with the Pioneers. Her average score this season is 77.4 and had four top-10 finishes this season.
 
Other golfers entered for Cal State East Bay: Alma Garcia, Carlota Eroles; Makena Ebster is entered as an alternate.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

The regional tournament field that includes 12 teams and six individual golfers who were not on selected teams. Four teams from the CCAA qualified. Defending NCAA Division II National Champion Dallas Baptist will be competing in Stockton as the top seed in the region.
 
The top five teams from the West Regional advance to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships on May 21-25 in Winter Garden, Florida, along with the top two individual golfers in the field who are on non-advancing teams.
