MEET RECAP: Men's Track & Field at Chico Invitational & Distance Carnival

CHICO, Calif. — Cal State East Bay men's track and field put together a strong team performance at the Chico Invitational & Distance Carnival, finishing fifth out of 14 scoring teams during the two-day meet hosted at University Stadium on the campus of Chico State. The Pioneers tallied several notable finishes across both track and field events, highlighted by two field event victories and multiple personal bests.

Notable Track Performances

  • Che Jimenez placed second in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 48.75 seconds. It marked his fourth top-three finish of the season in the event.
  • Brevan Rohde finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking 16.30 seconds.
  • Amier Hollis posted a personal-best time of 53.35 seconds in the 400 meters.
  • Yosef Amaha set a personal best in the 800 meters with a time of 1 minute, 59.44 seconds.
  • John Funderburg (4:11.19) and Logan Phulps (4:14.15) each ran personal bests in the 1,500 meters.

Notable Field Performances

  • Calvin Hensley won the high jump, clearing a personal-best height of 1.96 meters.
  • Milo Greenwood earned first place in the javelin with a mark of 52.12 meters.
  • Remse Pamintuan placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.71 meters.
  • Amier Hollis finished ninth in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 6.57 meters.
  • Edgar Martinez achieved a personal-best mark of 41.94 meters in the hammer throw, good for 13th place.

Host Chico State secured the top team score at the meet.

Cal State East Bay will wrap up its regular season next weekend at the Johnny Mathis Invitational, set for April 18-19 at Cox Stadium on the campus of San Francisco State.
