Cal State East Bay’s Easton Hether picks up third career FloCollege/CCAA Golfer of the Week award
Easton Hether of Cal State East Bay has been selected as this week's FloCollege/CCAA Golfer of the Week, for the week of Sept. 24-30.
Hether carded a 2-over par 218 to finish second at the DII Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya, just one stroke behind winner Peyton Jones of Colorado Christian. The three-round tournament was hosted by Western New Mexico at the Tulum CC in Akumal, Mexico.
The senior from Fairfield, Calif., rallied in round three but came up just shy of taking over the leaderboard against Jones. Hether used four birdies over a five hole stretch in the final round to make his move up the leaderboard. He also led all players in the field with 12 total birdies in the tournament.
As a team, No. 16 ranked Cal State East Bay (905) placed fourth behind champion West Texas A&M (893) and five shots ahead of Colorado Christian. Click here to see results from the tournament.
