MEET RECAP: CSUEB Men's Cross Country at Cougar Challenge

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – On Saturday morning, the Cal State East Bay men's cross country team placed eigth among 15 teams in the Cougar Challenge and sixth among 10 NCAA Division II teams in the meet. The Pioneers competed in the men's 8k run on the campus of Cal State San Marcos.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
  • Cole McKain was the Pioneers' top finisher, placing 26 among a field of 181 runners. He completed the 8k run in 25 minutes, 27.4 seconds.
  • Rounding out the top-5 finishers for the Pioneers were Chas O'Bear (25:56.8), Matthew Morgon (26:04.7), Aidan Singh (26:31.5) and Miles Worthen (26:48.2).
  • Improving his time for a personal Cal State East Bay best 8k finish was Andrew Sandoval, completing the 8k in 28:29.9.
  • No. 6 Chico State won the team scoring title for the meet as the Wildcats' Daniel Hernandez won the 8k in 24:27.4.

UP NEXT FOR CAL STATE EAST BAY

The final regular season meet for the Pioneers takes place on Friday, October 6 when they run in the SF State Invitational. Start time for the men's 8k is set for 4:15 p.m. from Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park.
