SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Cal State East Bay's men's basketball team had a strong first half on Sunday afternoon but was unable to sustain the offensive success into the second half, ultimately falling to Dominican (Calif.) 68-52 at Conlan Center.
 

 
The Pioneers controlled much of the first half, building a nine-point lead midway through and entering halftime up 34-28. However, their shooting touch disappeared after the break, managing just six field goals in the final 20 minutes.

East Bay's offense stagnated early in the second half, scoring only two field goals — both from Beril Kabamba — in the first 10 minutes. This drought allowed the Penguins to take the lead at the 13:32 mark and pull away, outscoring the Pioneers 40-18 in the second half.

• Teiano Hardee led East Bay with 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting.
• Beril Kabamba recorded a double-double (12 points, 14 rebounds).
• DJ Sanders contributed defensively with four steals.
• The Pioneers shot 15-for-32 in the first half but cooled significantly in the second.
• Dominican's Nathan Ilunga led all scorers with 17 points.

Cal State East Bay returns to action on Saturday, November 23, hosting Concordia University Irvine at Pioneer Gymnasium. Prior to the 4 p.m. tip-off, East Bay will honor Rich Sherratt ('69) for his donation of a new scoreboard in a ceremony at approximately 3:45 p.m.
