Pioneer Men's Basketball Bounces Back With 76-67 Win on Saturday
HAYWARD, Calif. - After dropping the 2024-25 season opener on Friday, the Cal State East Bay men's basketball team answered with a hard-fought 76-67 victory over Fresno Pacific on Saturday evening at Pioneer Gymnasium in the Pioneer Conference Challenge, evening their record at 1-1 for the season.

Despite the Sunbirds' quick early lead, the Pioneers finished strong in the first half, building a commanding 43-31 lead by halftime. Their hot shooting from beyond the arc was a key factor, as they connected on 7 of 11 3-pointers in the opening period.
However, Fresno Pacific refused to go away quietly, outscoring Cal State East Bay 36-33 in the second half and cutting the lead to single digits multiple times. Despite a strong push from the Sunbirds in the second half, Cal State East Bay maintained its composure down the stretch.
