SAN FRANCISCO - This week, the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) announced its 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-West Region Teams. From Cal State East Bay, Mika Sayfurahman was named to the First Team following her outstanding sophomore season.
Sayfurahman only added to her collection of awards for 2023. She was the team's leading scorer with eight goals (tied for most in the CCAA regular season) as she was named CCAA Midfielder of the Year, All-CCAA First Team and Academic All-District®. During the regular season, the CCAA honored her twice for Pixellot/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week. She scored a goal in five of the final six matches of the season, including a game-winning penalty kick against Cal Poly Humboldt on October 20.
By way of being named to the D2 CCA All-West Region First Team, Sayfurahman will be placed on the national ballot for D2 CCA All-America consideration.
