United Soccer Coaches Names Farnan to NCAA Division II West Region Third Team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced its 2023 NCAA Division II All-West Region Teams for men's soccer this week. From Cal State East Bay, junior forward Aaron Farnan was named All-West Region Third Team.
In addition to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Third Team honor, Farnan received previous 2023 postseason awards, including:
- All-CCAA Second Team
- Academic All-District®
During the regular season, Farnan led the Pioneers in goals with six and also had three assists. He scored a goal less than a minute into the season on August 31 and in the same match, eventually scored the game-winning goal. He had a total of 40 shots with 23 on frame.
The award is the first postseason award since 2014 from United Soccer Coaches (then known as National Soccer Coaches Association of America) for the Pioneers when Kellen Crow and Chris Lara were named to the third team.

The Coyotes scored a goal in each half to defeat the Pioneers 2-1. Michael Rossi netted CSUEB's only goal in the match.

However, the Pioneers lost 4-1 to No. 11 Cal Poly Pomona at Kellogg Stadium. Scoring his sixth goal of the season for Cal State East Bay was Aaron Farnan.
