Six years ago, Steve Spencer stepped into the role of advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Cal State East Bay with a clear purpose: to amplify the student-athlete voice and foster a stronger sense of community. Today, that vision has not only taken root but flourished, thanks to a passionate and motivated Executive Board that has elevated SAAC's impact to new heights under Spencer's watch.

TURLOCK, Calif. — Cal State East Bay's postseason run came to an end Friday afternoon at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena, as the No. 6 seed Pioneers fell to No. 2 seed Cal State San Bernardino in the semifinals of the CCAA Volleyball Tournament presented by Under Armour. The Coyotes advanced with a 3-1 victory (25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16) in a match that featured momentum swings and spirited rallies from both sides.

TURLOCK, Calif. — Cal State East Bay started strong and earned a four-set victory over third-seeded Cal State LA (25-18, 22-25, 25-17, 25-19) Thursday afternoon at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena in the opening round of the 2025 CCAA Volleyball Tournament presented by Under Armour. The sixth-seeded Pioneers' balanced attack and poise carried them into Friday's semifinals.

TURLOCK, Calif. - Prior to the 2025 CCAA Volleyball Tournament presented by Under Armour, an honor that only one CCAA volleyball player receives each year was bestowed upon a member of Cal State East Bay's squad. Rebeca Freitas was named the 2025 recipient of the Elite 13 award for the CCAA.
